I believe tattoos in todays society are becoming more and more accepted. And since the art is permanent no one should be penalized for something they can't change unless they go through costly painful surgery. I think being forced to wear long sleeves outside on a job sit is ludicrous, and that it shouldn't matter.

ReplyDeleteI agree with Tommy on that. They are permanant and shouldn't be penalized. Some people also may over heat if it's hot out and their job doesn't allow tattoos to be visual.
ReplyDeleteSome people get tattoos to just get them and others actually have stories behind them. Deep meanings, personal history and they should be able to express this without their jobs making them hide their lives. It may be a bit distracting at first but after a while others learn to look past it and it won't bother them. The more they're exposed to others the more they grow to ignore it. I think they should be accepted in the work place.
i believe that as long as the tattoos are appropiate, then there should be able to wear what everone else is wearing and not affect their job. For most people, tattoos dont mean much but for some, its to represent something with alot of meaning. I agree with kayla that tattoos sometimes have a deeper meaning and or a personal history and no one should be treated worse because they have a tattoo.

People today get tattoos not just for looks but it may carry a significant meaning to them. Tattoos should be accepted in the work force especially when necessary. I agree with Kayla because the more you do show something it will get recognized but people will past that.

I believe that as long as the tatoo is appropiate for a working environment, then people should be able to work the same as anyone else. Some people get tatoos for a purpose and some do not.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ashley Tran that tatoos should be accepted in the work force.
i also agree with Kayla, because the more people do,it will get recognized and people will past it.
i think that as long as a tattoo isn't ridiculously innopropriate that it should be allowed to be visible. maybe instead of completely saying no to them, maybe take a look at the visible ones and see if they could be accepted by the job. like a tattoo of a loved one who is no longer with that person, why should that have to be hidden? it's like covering up their death and pretending they never were.
ReplyDeletealso i agree with amanda because the statement she made sums mine up in about two sentences. it should be completely ok for someone to have tattoos if they are ok.

Many tattoos symbolize something these days and should be more acceptable in the work world today. People should have to cover up what they believe in or whats on their body for other people's preferences. I agree with chansen101 as long as the tattoos are not ridiculous then it is work appropriate.

i very much agree with Kayla, some people do get tattoos to just get them and and some people actually have Deep meanings and personal history behind their tattoo. Yes it can be distracting, but people will soon become used to it.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion falls between though. Because some tattoos can be innapproriate for were you work. Like me, i work at a child daycare center, i cant have faul language or images from a tattoo being present around the children. I guess it all just depends.
Kayla Clark 5
I agree with Shannon, tattoos can symbolize who you are. It can have a significant meaning. I think that however when it comes down to working at a certain job for example, a nurse or teacher it's unprofessional. Maybe if you get a tattoo you should get it where it's not that noticeable to others. It can be hard to get a job. I've read job requirements before and i read no facial piercings or tattoos on the arms.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with kayla I think that it depends on where you work at you don't want to be around children with huge foul tattoos. I understand where the company coming from also I feel that he is representing the company and showing tattoos may not be approprate or professional.

I agree that tattoos are becoming more accepted now days, but i think that for some jobs like a white collar job or a politician shouldn't have visible tattoos.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with kayla; some tattoos are not appropriate. if you want to have something on your body that could offend someone you should cover it up when you go somewhere.

ReplyDeleteI think tattoos are fine. But if it is a large tattoo that covers up a whole arm then they should be covered up if your in a public workplace (ex:bank teller, auto salesman) just so you don't have the chance of offending or even scaring someone. However if it is more private place where you don't need to interact with a multitude of people then its fine.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brittany Haselden about the white collar job or politician. It just doesn't look professional if they have a huge visible tattoo when adressing the country.
Matt Gutierrez
I think tattoos are not a big problem as long as it don't have anything inappropriate. Tattoos in work place is a normal thing. People likes to express themselves with tattoos, maybe its an art of something they love or their love ones.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brittany Haselden because in today society tattoos are become more accepted and people don't see as bad as they used to be.

There are places were it is acceptable and not. Me and my mom were literally just talking about me getting tattoos a few minutes before i posted this. It is a bit ridiculous that the woman had to wear long sleeves to cover her personality and interests. Tattoos don't only show difference between individuals, but to me it shows a different form of art. And i do agree with Brittany Haselden.

I think that tattoos in society today are becoming more and more popular. Though many people do not accept them either, many people do not see what is wrong with them. It is hard not to judge a person with tattoos because it is the very first thing you see on them.
ReplyDeleteI believe that tattos in a workplace are acceptable at times, but should be covered up in certain jobs, such as dealing with children.
I agree with Ashley as to how some tattos have a specific meaning behind them, therefore, they shouldn't have a consequence for it

Tattos are becoming more popular but i dont think they should be displayed in a work place. They should be hidden.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brittany that they are becoming more acceptable but should still be respectful towards work.
I believe that most tattoos should be allowed in a workplace. I don't think there is any reason that harmless tattoos should have to be covered up. Although tattoos with innapropriate words/images should be hidden to prevent offending others.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Stephanie, not everyone can accept tattoos.

In my opinion, if you are to have a tattoo you should have to be able to hide it. You never know when a time will come up when it will be necessary to conceal.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Stephanie, not everyone will ever be able to understand the concept of tattoos and many will always find it socially unacceptable.

I think it depends on you job. If it's extremely business like and more uptight, tattoos aren't very professional. But if it's a laid back job like a construction site, no body will think differently of you for having a tattoo. Personally, if it's not clearly inappropriate, I don't think there's any need to cover them up.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tommy. Having to completely cover yourself up is a bit ridiculous. And society has pretty much accepted tattoos.
I believe that tattooes are not appropriate to be visible in the work place. Tattooes are a personal dissuasion and should be kept personal therefore not visible to the whole world. Personally I would never get a tattoo and thing it is not safe or professional. I have no problem with others having tattooes but I think that they need to be tasteful and appropriate. I also think that before you get a tattoo you should consider the rest of you life because it is permanent and consider the profession that you are going into.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with most of the people who have already posted because I don't think that the professionalness ofjobs should not have to change because more people are getting tattooes.

In my opinion, I already don't like tattoos on a person so having a tattoo in the workplace is a big NO to me. I don't care what job it is plain and simple we should treat our body like a temple and not mark it with permanent ink. Having tattos doesn't make you cool and i understand some people have a picture or the date of a family member who died, but come on let's be real there is no point for having them
ReplyDeleteI agree with Katie Spitzer I have no problem with others having tattoos.

i personally i love tattoos and dont find them inproper for work. tattoos represent something significant to you, something that in soome way or another completes you. Ofcourse, there are some jobs that are more professional than others. in my opinion, depending on the job there should be a reasonable amount of tattoos that can be shown. But no on should force you to hide a part of your personality.
ReplyDeletei agree with Stephanie, because although not many people like tattoos nor understand them, they are acceptable in the society.but not becaus you have a tattoo you should be judged.

ReplyDeleteI believe that a persons tattoos should be able to be visible in the workplace. As long as they are not offensive to other people they are not harming anybody. They are a form of expression and people should not be forced to cover their body art. However i do believe that they are not proffesional looking, they should not be banned but if they can be covered i think that is a good thing in the business place.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mark Lamping because if a tattoo has special meaning it would be wrong to tell someone to cover up.

I think that as long as people have appropiate tattos that don't offend the other workers than its ok to show your tattoos off. There are a lot of people who have pearsings on there face but it doesn't bother people so why should tattoos bother the employees.
ReplyDeleteI agree with aissac, as long as the tattoos appropiate then it wont offend anybody.

Tattoos are perfectly fine, but not in the more professional workplaces, like lawyers, judges, doctors, and surgeons. Who would feel comfortable having open-heart surgery with a surgeon with tattoo sleeves and piercing's all over his face and tongue? Not very many, or at least the wiser people. Tattoos are really only susceptible for the things that they are associated with, like bars, pool halls, or automobile shops. Tattoos at those location basically represent that the people working are into what they do. It fits them in the business part.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jacob, if you do get a tattoo, you should be fully aware that you will most likely be covering it up and hiding it from others in the business part.

I feel visible tattoos in professional workplaces should be more accepted. Although, i can see where Bryan William is coming from. It depends on the job of the individual. I think doctors, judges, lawyers, etc. should not show tattoos because they are highly respected professions.

I agree with Tommy B it shouldnt matter if you have a tattoo
ReplyDeleteI dont think that tattos affect the workplace at all. I agree what Mark Lamping said about them. It shouldnt matter if the person has a tatto or not. As long as he or she is having a positive impact on the company then that person is good.
ReplyDeleteI think that you should not be penalized for having tattoos in the workplace. But however you should be wary of how you present yourself and try to conceal them depending on what kind of job you have. I agree with Kayla D in that they are permanent and shouldnt be held liable for something they might have gotten in their teenage years.
ReplyDeleteYou shouldn't discriminate someone because of their choice of self expression. I think tattoos are appropriate in the work place but it depends on where exactly you are working and how professional you need to be/dress. There are ways to cover up tattoos and I don't think a person should be judged on if they have tattoos or not. People should be hired on their effort to work, not the way they look. And I agree with Peedy Johnson and Mark Lamping because it should not matter if someone has a tattoo, it only matters if they have a positive attitude and work ethic for their specific job.
ReplyDeleteYou have so many people getting tattos now and days than you did back then. So yes i would say tattoos are becoming a little more accepted in the work place. I dont really agree with it but at the same time it all depends if they are showable beacuse if you are in a specific job field your physical apperance does matter!
ReplyDelete@MichelleP agree because many people have tattoos but it's about how does it look in the work plac,is it able to be hidden, and will others look at you unprofessional because of your tattoos.
ReplyDeleteI think that as long as the tattoos are appropiate, as long as they are not offensive to other people they are not harming anybody. People should be hired accoring to thier effort and personalitly, not the way they look.
ReplyDeleteI agree with bryan williams because i wouldnt feel comfortable with a doctor who has piercings and tattoos everywhere. But if you know you are going to be a doctor or something very professional, i would think you would be smart enough to not get those things.

I think that tattoos shouldn't be displayed at any workplace because they can come off as offensive to others. Some people may get tattoos for a rememberance of dead family members but some people may come across it as inappropriate.
ReplyDelete@ Daisy Mujica: I agree that people shouldn't have tattoos and that people may get them for dead family members. They still shouldn't be displayed at any workplace.
I think that tattoos should not be accepted in the workplace. I mean i guess if you want your professional job represented in that way sure go ahead you probably wont get that far. But most professional jobs do not allow it. I agree with Daisy that people shouldnt have tattoos and that they should not be displayed at any workplace.

I think it can really depend of what job you have. If you work as a auto mechanic for example I do not think covering up tattoos should be much of an issue. But if you work a very corporate job then covering up any tattoos becomes more important because you want to look and act professional.
ReplyDelete@tburton: I agree that people should be hired according to their efforts and personality, but disagree that they should not be hired because of their looks. If you were trying to hire someone would you hire the clean cut looking person or the person with tattoos all over their arms? You would want the most professional looking person to work for you.
