Blog Assignment for Oct. 18-Oct. 22
Welcome Back! We've gone two weeks without a blog and so much has happened in the world. At the forefront of world news is the rescue of the Chilean miners. It's so refreshing to watch news that is positive and isn't in some way connected to tragedy, scandal or horror. What is your reaction to the rescue? Did you happen to watch any of it live? How do you think the miners' lives will change as a result of this event? I'm curious to know your opinions. Make sure you are also responding to ONE of your classmate's responses.

I have seen some of the news about that and I think that the miners lives will be changed and give all of them a second chance at everything they thought they had time to do before. I believe that maybe their perspectives of life and how to live it will change dramatically and they will do more in their lives than they wouldve done if they never got trapped in the first place. I also think its good that so much positive can come out of a dramatic situation and it was really good to hear that all those people got out safely.

the part of the news about the miners i saw was the actual rescuing of them. after being down there for so long i imagine that they're gonna come out of it never regreting anything they do in life and live everyday like it's the last because it could very well have been the last for them down in that trap. i agree with mark because its nice to finally see some good news, this makes you feel better knowing all of them got out alive.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed watching some of the miners come out live. The emotions that were displayed by the miners and there families were amazing to watch. To see how happy and excited they were and how relieved they were made me really happy. I think they are going to value and appreciated their lives more and take what has happened to them as an experience to learn from. It makes me think of what it would be like if that happened to me or one of my family members, i cant even imagine what they must have gone through. They must have been strong men to actually have lived that and not given up hope.
ReplyDeleteI agree with both chansen and Mark because they will come out of their with a new perspective on life.

Ive only heard a little bit about the Chilean minors during school, and i was shocked. Unfortunately i never got a chance to watch any of it live. I think that the Chilean minors will cherish their lives more, and also their family and friends.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with Mark with how much positive came out with a negative situation.

I never really payed much attention to this terrible event, but i was aware of the situation. I feel the miners are going to have a new perspective on life after this is all over with. I watched a short piece of it live. I do agree with Mark, they will also see this as a second chance.

I watched some of the news on this event, i agree it was terrible thing to happen but what came out of it was uplifting. All those people down in the mines weren't being selfish even in a life and death situation; they all were more concerned about other lives then their own. I also agree with Mark, it gave those people a second chance at life, and to see things in a whole new way.

This is my second time hearing about the Chilean Minors. The news surprised me. I think the the they are grateful for their lives and i give the rescuers credit for being careful and trying to help other people in a life or death situation. I agree with Amber i think they're happy and value/appreciate their lives more.

I only watched a few clips of them being rescued. I was amazed at how unselfish they all were and the fact that no one wanted to be the first to get rescued. I think the miners are much more greatful and thank everyday they're alive.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mark. Their perspectives on life will change greatly. They'll learn to appreciate everything.

I only watched a little bit of clips, but what i saw was very cheerful. I feel that that the miners are very lucky and they strategized very well to be trapped for 2 months. I believe that that will change thier life forever , like them being in small areas and problems with interaction wih other people. The reuniting them with thier familly was very uplifting from not seeing them in so long and the struggle.

I was really greatful to God that those miners were rescued and made it out alive because all this was a huge miracle. The miners lifes will change completely and they will learn to appreciate life in a whole new way. Not only will they appreciate their lives more but all that they have.
ReplyDeleteI agree with taylor hansen It's amazing at how unselfish they all were and the fact that no one wanted to be rescued first

It seems crazy how the miners could be trapped down there that long without loosing control and sanity. They all had eachothers backs. I had seen some of the rescuers live and to see them, made me relize that they had not seen day in over a month! I know that my life would definatly be changed and not take the sun for granted.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Daisy and how God kept them alive and were able to be rescued. It is something that would make you appreciate your life more.

I believe that the rescue is awsome!! It's about time that they saw some light, I have no idea how they survived like that. I watched some of the rescue, I believe it was the 3rd-5th rescuers. I believe that the miners will not take everyday for granted now. They may charish things more, not knowing when their last day is. I agree with Ashley that they will most likely cherish their family and lifes more.

I was excited that all the miners were rescued and survived bieng in the mine for so long. I didnt get to watch it live. Im sure that the lives of the miners have been changed and hopefully in a positive way. I believe that they realized how much they love and miss their families.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Dmujica that the miners would see and appreciate life in a diffrent way now.
Jacob Garza Per 6
I've heard very little about this event. I'm glad that they are all rescued! It was a real test of survival(strength, self-control, teamwork and trust) for them. They may realize that nothing is ever too hard to overcome.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mark Lamping- Every obstacle in life can lead to more positive opportunities.

I did see some of the rescue live. I saw the first man come out and get greeted by his family. It was very sweet to see the family's reaction to seeing their loved one whom they had not seen in a very long time. I think that they will have a hard time adjusting to their life above ground because their families will have had to learn how to live without them there and their role might not be the exact same. I am sure anything would be better than being underground. I am glad that they are all safe.
ReplyDeleteI agree with jenifer in that this did test their strength and trust.

I did not see their rescue live but my paster showed it to our church on sunday. It was so cool to see them being rescued but to think that it took more then 8 hours to get to the surface. It was really cool reading about one miner who prayed and accepted God into his life. It was amazing that they survived 60 days in that shaft.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Kree that their lives are changed for ever.

I think it is awesome that they were rescued. I can't imagine what was going through their minds when they were trapped. I bet when they were rescued they realized how much they take for granted in their regular everyday lives.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Katie; I didn't even think about their families having to adjust to them not being there, then them being back again.

I think this great news will help the miners apriciate their life, as well as the people that saved them. I did not see their rescue but I heard my parents talk about it. I was suprise that the miners survived for 2 months. It was the best thing to get everyone out alive.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jacob Garza because he his right about the miners realized how much they miss and love their family

When I heard about the Chilean miners, it was very shocking. i was able to see the news as they were being brought up from underground. I could tell that these miners had gone through a life changing experience. These people were not only husbands, fathers, brothers or friends, they were heroes. They were able to show everyone that from one moment to another you can lose your life. They proved that everyone should appreciate life because they did not if they were going to be rescued or not. Once the miners were reunited with their families it was obvious that they knew what it meant to live. Since they received a second chance they will cherish every moment with their friends and family because this tragic event will remind them what horror it was to see their life flash past them.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Taylor Burton because it must have been horrible to think that they were never going to get out from the mine. They were simply working and one minute to another they were trapped. It must have been frightening thoughts they had since it was a time of panic.

I didn't view any of the live footage of them being rescued but I was aware of what was going on. I think it's a miracle that they all got out alive and they get a second chance at life. I agree with mark because I think that the miners will now live their lives with no regret and appreciate every second of it.

I think it's great that we found a way to rescue them. I did happened to see some of the rescues on tv it was so inspiring to see their families waiting for them. It actually made me cry a little when a daughter was waiting for her father to come out, she was hold a soccer ball for him.
ReplyDeleteI also agree with kree that their lives are changed for ever!

I remember watching the miners shortly before they were going to be pulled from the mines with my mother about a week ago. I never kept up with what was going on with that whole ordeal, but i'm glad that all of them made it alive. I especially thought was cool was when they were probing around the ground looking for them, that the miners quickly sprayed the probe bar before they pulled it back out. And also seeing the rerun of the clip of when they first saw the one miner looking into the camera. There lives have definitely change, especially because of all that mental anguish that they had to go through. After two months of being underground, emotional problems aroused in all of them also, fear for the lives and loved ones. I'd imagine that they all have a different perspective of life after that incident.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brittany about what was going on in there minds while they were down there. I would bet that at first, panic and chaos ruled, until the one person stepped up and took charge.

I was not able to watch any of the rescue footage, but i was able to read about their story. Their traumatic experience and heroic rescue will be set in history forever. It will probably also be a setting stone for future safety measures in mining. The miners who were trapped will eventually go back to living normal lives, they will receive plenty of publicity and there will most likely be a movie of some sort and books over the subject.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bryan, they will definitely have a different perspective on life now that they have been through some of the worst times possible.

I am truly glad to hear that the 33 chilean miners have been rescued. I haven't seen any of the footage of the trapped miners but I have heard much about it. I think that the miners lives will be changed and getting out alive has been an occurence of a second chance at life; as if redemption. Some of them maybe not becuase they have lived a fulfilled life, but this could be an opportunity for the miners to not take life for granit anymore and realize the true mening of life.
ReplyDelete@ Jacob Longnecker: I do agree that it was a "traumatic experience and a heroic rescue" but I think that they will live their lives normally but not in an instant. I say that they will live a more fulfilled life.
I was lucky enough to watch some of the live footage in my Spanish 2 class on the day that there was PSAT testing in school. I am so glad that they got all 33 miners out alive and safe. Their lives.
ReplyDelete@ RobNORM : i completely agree with what you said about how getting out of the mine was a occurrence of a second chance at life.

I remember watching the news when the miners were being pulled out of the mine in a big tube thing. I saw all the people it brought together across the world who helped with the rescue and watched it on the news. It's very inspiring to see that humans as a race can still stick together in times of hardship. This also showed the resilience of our race i can't eve fathom how they got them out with that tube.
ReplyDeleteIt was great to watch the people being pulled out of the mine, after being trapped there for so long.I caught a few clips in the beginning but after that i watched more and more.I think they're lives will change because they'll come out with new positive outlooks and show them to value they're life by never giving up and live each day like it your last because for some they thought it would be they're last but there was HOPE.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Mark Lamping, they will come out with new perspectives on life.

i have seen bits and pieces on the news about this situation and heard my parents talking about it and also heard it on the radio. i think the miners' are at such relief that they dont lose everything they just had, including their lives. They are all very lucky.
ReplyDeletei agree with Mark Lamping, they now have a second chance to do everything they wanted to before.

I have only heard a little bit about the Chilean minors during school, and i was shocked. Unfortunately i never got a chance to watch any of it live. I think that the Chilean minors will cherish their lives more, and also their family and friends.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunatly I was unable to view the rescue but did hear much about it and am amazed at how they all survived with so few resources. I agree with S rod that the miners will cherish living a little more and not take it for granted.
ReplyDeleteJacob Reyes 3
It was good to here that the Chilean minors where saved. I think life is going to be back to normale for some of them but not all because i heard that a lot of them where effected badly. I didnt get to watch none of it live and I didnt here aboit none of this till school.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that all the miners were rescued in a time effective and safe manner. I agree with peedy that some of their lives will return to normal but some wont because besides the emotional scarring one had pneumonia, some needed dental surgery and some had something wrong with their skin. Besides this I am sure they are all thankful and eccentric that they were rescued and their lives can return to normal.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed watching the Chilean miners rescued. I think that a lot of them will look at their lives in a totally different perspective. I think they will appreciate what they have and their family so much more. I agree with Peedy and Taylor that some of the miners will have emotional scarring. That was a dramatic trama they had to deal with for months and its expected for them to feel paranoid.

i actually dont have a clue about the miners, but from reading the comments i could imagine how it would feel to be free again.. and i definately think their lives will changefrom seeing what they just went through and realizing they need to cherish every moment they have with theiir family.
