In college you have no one to take care of you, eberything is your responsibility. Hence you have to complete the assignmets without someone there to nag you about it and remind you what you need to do. Everything is up to you from showing up to studying, nothing is required it is all your choice.
it is more free. everything is your responsibility. you have more hours to do your homework and you have to take advantage of them. and also they dont test over a weeks worth of material like in high school so you have to study more material. They wont be easy on you. most the time late work or even make up tests are acceptable.
College academics are much harder than high school because you don't have your parents or teachers hassling you to turn your homework in on time. It's all on you to decide whether or not you're going to do as you're supposed to. The same with going to class. If you don't go to class, like most high schoolers don't, then you're more than likely going to fail and have to retake the class. Even if you can buy the notes online, you're still missing the added benefit of going to class and something might have been discussed that isn't in the notes. That'd be too bad. You just have to really grow up and take responsibility for yourself. It can be easy though if you're willing to put your mind to it.
College academics are harder than high school because college doesn't really have make up work like high school and teachers dont really hold you hand and tell you that assignments are missing nor do they really warn people about their grades going down. It all really starts now, im beginning to wean myself from depending on teachers a lot so that it wouldn't be such a change or shock for me when i actually graduate
The college academic curriculum is very different from the high school curriculum. In high school students are still guided through their course work but in college you find the guide to your course work. There is a whole lot more freedom and time within the day to study and to do what you want but with more outside class time only requires more study time. I believe college is challenging but with focus and a mild level of fear the sky is the limit.
College academics differ from high school in that in high school good grades can be obtained with minimum to no work. In college though if you do no work and try to get by the minimum you will not get good grades. Another thing is in high school teachers are way more accessible as in college you almost never can have a 1on1 conversation with your teacher unless you make an appointment like you were going to see your doctor or something.
Unlike the colleges, High school is much more lenient on the students. If people keep the same attitude, they wil most likely have a hard time trying to fit in. Time efficiency and concentration is required in order to do well in your classes.
High school the teachers are there to help you and want you to pass. While in college, the teachers could care less because you have already paid the money and it doesnt matter to them if you pass or fail.
The hardest thing for me in college, will probably be the tests. Not only do they cover a lot more material than high school tests, but it is also a HUGE chunk in your grade. It basically is your final grade. Another difficult thing is managing your time well. You don't have class everyday, and your not reviewing what you learned earlier before a test. Therefore, if you wait last minute to study , most likely, you won't remember it. That's why it is smart to study a little everyday to keep the information fresh in your head.
When students go to college, most of them will move out of their parents house and go to another city. Students will have to grow up and take on a lot of responsibility. No professor will approach you if you seem to be having a tough time in the class. It is your responsibility to see when he/she is available. If you decide to skip class in college, the consequences are greater. Test can be scarce, and there might only be one test-- your final. It is up to you to study all of the available materials for that class. It won't be just handed to you.
When it is time to go to college, it is usually a hard transformation for a high school student to become a college student. In high school we are used to being babied, meaning that our teachers make sure we are doing our work, and come out to help us when they notice we are struggling. In college the professors expect you to go to them whenever you are struggling. In high school we are also babied with notes, in college we have to decide what is important, and what we need to know. When we go to college it will be a big reality check because we are used to being babied.
The major difference between high school and college academics is the independence you get in college. Everything you do, from getting up in the morning, getting help, doing homework, and even going to class is all done on your own. You no longer have anyone to watch over you and make sure everything gets done. It is all your own personal responsibility which can be a pain for some people and welcome change to others. Also, tests are harder and homework isn't check frequently if at all. This means that the tests become your sole way to pass the class, which means studying becomes much more important. All in all, college is a completely different experience than high school.
pretty much everything in college is different than High School. The work, the classes, even the environment is different. You definantly have alot more freedom than high school, but don't be decieved: the freedom you are given is given to you for a reason and that is to study and for homework not for playtime. College is a whole new ballgame. so for everyone out there who wants to succeed, you gotta learn the game.
everything in college is completely different from high school with grading, studying, and taking care of yourself by yourself. Studying is the most important thing to do in college and in high school, but usually you can get away without studying in high school but in college you will fail with flying colors. no one is there to baby you and you are responsible for your future success in your chosen job choice.
In college you have no one to remind you that you need to go to school everyday l. The college professors won't press you to study or go to tutoring. Also in college you don't have many grades and your average usually depends on what grade you get on a test.
College is a big step up from high school, but if you start training yourself now, during your high school years, it won't be that drastic of a change.
college will be a big transition from high school, mostly because of the freedom and the choices you will have to make. usually you have parents to make your choices for you that's why you should start early and parents should give more freedom
College is very different than High School. You have way more responsibility in College, there isn’t someone always looking out for you. You’re responsible for your own actions. You have to be self motivated to study, 2-3 hours of homework for every hour of class sounds like a lot. College requires responsibility and hard work.
College is definitely a huge step from high school. In college, you have more freedom and responsibility that you didn’t have in high school. No one is going to tell you how to study, when to get up in the morning, or how you should spend your time. It’s all about motivation that will help you get through your classes. And in addition to being more independent, the curriculum is a lot harder in college which makes studying for tests extremely important. But with self-motivation and a sense of responsibility in your studying and what you do in college, it will make the heavy responsibilities worth it.
High school is way different than college. first of in college there is no one to tell you to do your homework or to check if you studied or to make sure you went to your classes, then theres no grades for accuracy or even completion just maybe a test or two as the whole grade.
College is a big departure from High School, College gives you the independence you want but they expect you to use it to its full potential. As it said for every hour of class you will probably have 2 hours of preparation and study. College rewards people for how prepared and responsible they are whereas High school you are mainly rewarded for how gifted you are.
There's obviously a major change between high school and college. In college, they expect you to be responsible and independent. No one is going to baby you and make sure you get things done. You're expected to take care of yourself. Unlike high school, where you're still reminded to take care of your priorities and you're still living with your parents. I'd say college is a first step into the real world where you're on your own and you make your own decisions.
College is going to be very different and a huge change for a bunch of people. In college, you won't have your mom or dad there holding your hand and walking you through everything step by step. They won't be there to make sure you wake up on time or to cook you breakfast and make you go to class. If you dont want do go, you don't. But your grades will be greatly affected
Going from high school to college will be a huge change in the atmosphere and everything that you have normally been doing will change fast. You will have to care for yourself and be on your on, making sure to keep up with classes and studying. It will be hard at first because most students just party when they get there and that's what separates the good from the bad. It will be an experience but all you have to do is make the right decisions that will help you in the future.
Well it looks like the biggest difference is that just about everything is up to you. There is no body to stand by you to help, its all up to you to find help and guidance. So it will probably be difficult the first year to figure everything out.
With high school you do the same routine, sit in class and do class assignments you go home and do your homework, parents pressure you about making smart decisions and good grades and it's pretty basic. With college your completely on your own, how you study and prepare for your tests are completely up to you, it's a big difference
High school isn't really much like college, actually high school is nothing compared to college. Even when people say it is; it isn't. In high school its just the same thing five days a week for 8 hrs. Parents always on your back telling you to do this and to do that; dont do this dont do that. Basically every one is down your back telling you to do things. But in college, you are completely on your own, no one telling you to do anything, just you and your mind. College may come easier to some people because it isnt' repeating over and over again, and for others it may be very difficult. The two are hard and stressful but have totally different styles of learning. Taryn Abercia Period 6
College academics are different from highschool academics in many ways. One way is thay in college the teachers will not go to you for help if you need it, you will have to go to them or make a study group. Teachers don't give as many test but the test you do get, will be over many months of items you have learned. Also, it is very rare for teachers to give out test remakes.
In college all of your work is up to you to finish, everything is your responsibility. You'll no longer have your parents or teachers to remind you to turn in assignments or study because professors expect you to do all of your homework. It's also up to you to make up missed days and to be there for test days because you'll most likely be unable to retake the test. Grades aren't just graded for effort anymore either, you must do well because professors in college are much more critical
In High school, they prepare you to be ready for college through academics and character building, leading you the entire way. while in College, its leading you to your future career as a contributer to society. So were high school teachers walked you through it, professors will point you in the right direction, letting you decide ultimately where you will end up and how you get there. College, in a sense, is the loss of training wheels. they expect you to be mature young adults and take an avid interest in your future life and career. You do the work for yourself, not the teachers.
The major difference of highschool and college academics is the responsiblity. No one is there to guide you, effort you put it is the results you will recieve. STUDYING is a must and there is a 0% chance of succeeding if you cram before test or bs essays. Much thought and time needs to put into everything. Time management: party hard, study harder!
a high school education is free. high schol is an opportunity for everyone. high school is your tryout basically for college. college is you defining moments of becoming an adult and it sets up how your going to work the rest of your life, based upon how you go about getting your education.
College and high school are completly different in every way. College is all about being on your own and giving yourself the opportunity to accomplish a high education. High school doesnt have that ability because its in your home environment and you have other people making decisions for you.
Highschool is the medium that sits between freedom and the real world, with less guidelines and a little more freedom as the older you get. College is the real deal, 100% freedom to make your own choices. Freedom draws a fine line between the two.
highschool education can get frustrating but college education can get out of control. college is completely different, one of the main reason could be that the environment is completely unique. no chance of messing up on a test but there is more freedom in social life.
I think the biggest struggle moving from high school to college is the growth of the students responsibilities, which encompasses all the topics in the article. waking up on time, showing up to class, doing your homework and effective time management all go.hand in hand.the transition from high school to college is the biggest transition that you will make, and no one will adjust perfectly at first, it takes time.
High School differs from college dramatically, because in college, you cannot turn any work in late. I know this because I have a friend that is in college right now, and he was very sick for about three days while he needed to do a big project for one of his courses. Despite the fact that he told the professor what had happened, he wasn't allowed to turn it in, and got a zero on it.
High school and college can contrast each other majorly. Major things are magnified and some are minimized. Homework and studying is greatly amplified, you need to spend twice the hours doing homework and studying for every hour you’re in class. Teachers won't pull you aside or engender any type of emotions toward your grades. Responsibility is a key factor in college. Making sure you eat right, bath regularly, and do any functions that would fall into a normality of being home is now on your shoulders. As easily as you got into college you can be out so if you want to play hard study harder.
College and highschool are very different because you are alone and you don't even have to take notes or go to class. And in college your free to do whatever you want with no parents to tell you to do.
College academics are different because you have more freedom to do whatever you please. No one is going to hold your hand saying did you do your homework? In college you are on your own and decide everything yourself.
In high school all of the teachers are there to help you if you don't understand something or need help in their class, but in college you are on your own. In college you have to make sure that you stay ontop of your assignments and your studies. You also have to keep up with your self outside of school to, like with laundry and cooking. College is the time when you become more independent.
From what I gathered college is more about being self-sufficient and good time management unlike in high-school where you are told what you need to learn and just have to remember certain points for a test.
After graduating High School, whether if one pursues directly into the real world without a higher education from a University or college, or if one continues a higher level education, they will both require a lot of responsibility. College could be a glimpse of what the real world may be for some people, meaning they will come to realize that you no longer have your parents to support you as much as they used to or having teachers assist you individually. Therefore responsibility is a rather important skill one needs in order for the survival of the college life.
when your in high school you got it easy teachers remind you to do work. And in college no one reminds you to do your work you have to take resposability for yourself and do your work and turn it in on time
High school and college are two different environments. For example, in college your grade is based on tests and papers. Where as in highschool you have everything graded. This could lead to failure if you bomb a test vs in highschool you have all of the daily grades to cover you if you fail a test. You also do the work too without it being discussed which requires self learning.
College academics are harder because you are on your own and it isnt the professors responsibilty to ask you to turn in your assignments and remind you about them, its yours.
College and high school differ in such a way that they have different levels of responsibility for the student; in college, if you don't turn in an assignment, so be it. You fail the class and it isn't the Professor's fault. In high school, we're coddled more. We're reminded of missing assignments, and the grading scale isn't as harsh as college. College is just all around more difficult.
High school is a major diffrence from college because, in high school you have your parents and teachers hassiling you to complete work. In college you only have class several times a week and it is your own responsibility to get there and complete the work on time because there is no late work.
In college its all up to you. You have to take care of your self and make sure ou get to class and do your homework. If you miss a test you will rarely be able to make it up and you are expected to do good grades arent just given out
When you go off to college it is the true test to see just how disciplined you, as a student and person, are. With no one there to help you but yourself it is the first real challenge in a young adults life.
In highschool, mostly everything is handed to you. But in college, you have to work for everything. You have to less time in class with the teacher not teaching as thorough as in highschool. Plus you have greater expectations in college than in highschool.
There are many differces in the high school than college. For instance in high school you can turn work in late but in college if you don't turn in a assignment on the due date your screwed. College is no joking matter though most see it as a time to party
Work in college requires both drive and responsibility. You need to have the will and the time management in order to keep on track. You no longer have a teacher to remind you everything you have and havent done, you become independent.
In high school you only have 30 kids at the most in your class, but in college you have 50 to a 100 kids so the professors does not have time to help each student individually. So it is all up to you to learn how to do the work and get it in. You already paid the college so the professors just don't care that much if you fail or pass.
High school and college are completely different and can be a very hard transition for some people. In high school having a class of 25 people seems like a full class and takes a lot of effort to grab some teachers attentions. But in college there is going to be classes with 100s of people and then you are really going to have to work hard to get the professors attention. In college most teachers will not excuse a "doctors note" or any note they expect you to be there and they will not go back to explain to you what you missed. In high school most teachers will. Teachers in high school care a lot more than college teachers do. They push for you to atleast come out with a 70 when in college the teacher could honestly care less if you pass their class or not.
In college you have no one to take care of you, eberything is your responsibility. Hence you have to complete the assignmets without someone there to nag you about it and remind you what you need to do. Everything is up to you from showing up to studying, nothing is required it is all your choice.

As easily as you got into college you can be out so if you want to play hard study harder.
ReplyDeleteCollege and highschool are very different because you are alone and you don't even have to take notes or go to class. And in college your free to do whatever you want with no parents to tell you to do.
ReplyDeleteCollege academics are different because you have more freedom to do whatever you please. No one is going to hold your hand saying did you do your homework? In college you are on your own and decide everything yourself.
ReplyDeleteIn high school all of the teachers are there to help you if you don't understand something or need help in their class, but in college you are on your own. In college you have to make sure that you stay ontop of your assignments and your studies. You also have to keep up with your self outside of school to, like with laundry and cooking. College is the time when you become more independent.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I gathered college is more about being self-sufficient and good time management unlike in high-school where you are told what you need to learn and just have to remember certain points for a test.
ReplyDeleteAfter graduating High School, whether if one pursues directly into the real world without a higher education from a University or college, or if one continues a higher level education, they will both require a lot of responsibility. College could be a glimpse of what the real world may be for some people, meaning they will come to realize that you no longer have your parents to support you as much as they used to or having teachers assist you individually. Therefore responsibility is a rather important skill one needs in order for the survival of the college life.
ReplyDeletewhen your in high school you got it easy teachers remind you to do work. And in college no one reminds you to do your work you have to take resposability for yourself and do your work and turn it in on time
ReplyDeleteHigh school and college are two different environments.

ReplyDeleteCollege and high school differ in such a way that they have different levels of responsibility for the student; in college, if you don't turn in an assignment, so be it. You fail the class and it isn't the Professor's fault. In high school, we're coddled more. We're reminded of missing assignments, and the grading scale isn't as harsh as college. College is just all around more difficult.
ReplyDeleteHigh school is a major diffrence from college because, in high school you have your parents and teachers hassiling you to complete work. In college you only have class several times a week and it is your own responsibility to get there and complete the work on time because there is no late work.
ReplyDeleteIn college its all up to you. You have to take care of your self and make sure ou get to class and do your homework. If you miss a test you will rarely be able to make it up and you are expected to do good grades arent just given out
ReplyDeleteWhen you go off to college it is the true test to see just how disciplined you, as a student and person, are. With no one there to help you but yourself it is the first real challenge in a young adults life.
ReplyDeleteIn highschool, mostly everything is handed to you. But in college, you have to work for everything. You have to less time in class with the teacher not teaching as thorough as in highschool. Plus you have greater expectations in college than in highschool.
ReplyDeleteThere are many differces in the high school than college. For instance in high school you can turn work in late but in college if you don't turn in a assignment on the due date your screwed. College is no joking matter though most see it as a time to party
ReplyDeleteWork in college requires both drive and responsibility. You need to have the will and the time management in order to keep on track. You no longer have a teacher to remind you everything you have and havent done, you become independent.
ReplyDeleteIn high school you only have 30 kids at the most in your class, but in college you have 50 to a 100 kids so the professors does not have time to help each student individually. So it is all up to you to learn how to do the work and get it in. You already paid the college so the professors just don't care that much if you fail or pass.
ReplyDeleteHigh school and college are completely different and can be a very hard transition for some people.
