  1. This proves that if you work hard you can get things done. Also that college life will change who you are. Whether in a good or bad way thats up to you. 5. This article proved that appearance is important in the real world. If you want to be taken seriously you have to present yourself in a more professional way during the appropriate times. College was a reality check for this man. He became a better person by the way he was challenged at A&M. He gained a better understanding of the world and learned that the effort you put in will correspond with the results you get. Being a minority made it difficult for him but in the end that is what made him a better person. That was A&M initial goal, and they hope to do the same for other minorities.

  7. This artlcle shows me that it doesn't matter if you are black, asian, hispanic or whatever, when it comes to learning everyone deserves a quality education. Also that prejudices are still well and alive in many schools around the country, this is strenghtned by the fact that racial diversity at Texas A&M is still at a serious low.

  8. I received a lot from this article. First off, this article demonstrates how different college is compared to high school. In high school you almost always get away with looking how ever you want. In college, the way you dress, is the way you express your self to your advisers and professors. Secondly, anyone can succeed with their mind put forward. No matter what kind of background a person has they can do anything. Last off, it surprised me how non-diverse A&M and UT are.

  10. This article proves that everyone has to work hard in college, and that you might not always get the diversity that we have here at Cy-Woods in a college. It's very surprising, because, even though A&M and UT are still very undiverse, the situation would be a lot more challenging 30 years ago, and the schools have definitely made significant progress in diversifying their campuses.

I Think that A&M has done a great job for him proving that there is diversity but his determination exceeds overtime when there is a lot of work involved. He became a hard worker and has grown into a man, all his time and effort spent will be paid off soon enough.

Many people today base their opinions about other people off of stereotypes and how people look or what race/ethnicity they are, only making the outside of a person be the judge of someone's characteristics. This article is a good example on how a one's ignorance about a person could mislead them to the wrong idea about someone, completely disregarding the fine print about someone. 59. To me, this shows how valuable an education is, and how profoundly it can change one's life. I think the reason A&M lacks significant diversity is because some minority students do not yet see the importance of a college education, and therefore, do not strive to accomplish anything of value with their lives. If we show people the greatly a college degree can change their lives, and help those who cannot afford it, then A&M, along with all schools, will reflect the country's racial make-up.
