  1. It is ironic that today we had the Invisible Children assembly because nothing comes to my mind more when i think of those themes than those children and their families lives in Northern Uganda. The LRA has torn villages (civilation) apart, and were a obvious sign of human evil, and by spreading HIV Aids has taken several children and babies innocence. I very much look forward to reading this book.

  3. I agree with Taylor Boyd that it is ironic and everything about the LRA tearing these peoples homes away from them and forcing them into wars is a sign of human evil. Also the HIV Aids that have been spread do take away these childrens innocence, they also get made fun of like on the video of the little girl we watched for Invisible Children, and thats just wrong and evil.

  4. Lord of the Flies is very similar to Invisible Children. Of all of the Americans gluttony and greed we have, and there are children starving and being mistreated and so much more to add on.

  5. An event associated with themes from Lord of the Flies is the Holocaust. During this horrible time, peoples' innocence was ripped away as they were forced to take care of younger siblings, take care of themselves, and fight to survive. Also loss of civilization took place while millions were murdered purely because of their religion, race, gender, or age.

  6. Loss of innocence isn't really a recent event that has happen but it has effected America. Many people today dont even realize that this is effecting us. Also i agree with Christina with the theme relating to the Holocaust and the lost of innocent people.

  7. Hurricane Katrina relates to the loss of civilization. Most of New Orleans was wiped out in one day leaving thousands homeless. I also agree with Cristina many young children are having to grow up too fast and step up in life at a young age to take care of themselves and the ones they love.

  9. When those people were stuck in the mines in Chile im sure they had to cope with loss of human civilization and people going insane down there.

I also agree with Christina in which many people lost their innocence at the holocaust, they can never fully overlook death and what they have seen.

  13. One of the modern day examples of one of these themes is the huricanes that have gone through Haiti and distorted so much of the life that they had known which was not much in the first place. They lost much of their civilization and have had a hard time trying to restore the life that they had before all of the disasters that have happened there.
I agree with Jacob Garza in that the hurricane in new Orleans and te lack of civilization that was there right after the hurricane.

  15. All the young children being forced to fight in wars out in the foreign countries lost their innocence by trying to survive and having to grow up quickly. All the young boy's that killed them selves due to the bullyiing and harassment they were getting made them lose their innocence. 22. The country of Uganda is a good example of the theme loss of civilization. There isn't enough government help and everyone seems to have to fend for themselves. The children have to grow up too fast to take care of their younger siblings if their parent figure is too ill or has died from something tragic. The kids are forced to become adults or make adult decisions which displays loss of innocence. I agree with Christina when she relates the Holocaust to the theme loss of civilization because the kids were forced to grow up so fast to meet the demands of the camps they were put in.

The kids in the book had to do things their selves with out parents they each counted on one another but when things will get tough they have to just they own instinics.
