  1. Wow! I'm finally a senior! I can't believe it's actually here.
Today was great! My classes are amazing and my teachers are so enthusiastic about the new year. They seem like they'll be flexible with my schedule, too, which is a huge load off. I'm going to have some difficulty balancing work, school, and athletics, but I'll manage. It's the "real world" I'm living in, right???
The halls seem less crowded but maybe that's because there isn't a class of 1300 kids here!
The tardy policy is STRICT!!! I don't know how I'm going to get to class on time. We have no warning bell and I have classes on the opposite sides of the building. AGH!! Again, I'll manage. I want to exempt and if I lose my exemption status, I'll lose it period! Also, if I get suspended from school, I will have to deal with my coach. Not pretty.
All in all, today was awesome. Remember, I'm a senior and nothing beats that. Well, the last day of school as a senior might win that competition. Class of 2011, I'm ready!

  2. Im finally about to be done with high school! My schedule is okay i guess and i know at least one person in each of my classes. Im going to have trouble with my College Algebra 2K class this year because its a dual credit class and i have to do good in order to get college credit. The dress code thing they are trying to enforce isnt going to work very well since the students over power the AP's and they cant send everyone to the office on casual wednesdays when girls wear nike shorts. The tardy system is not cool either. Other than those and a few other things i think this year is going to be GREAT since its my last year in high school! :)

  3. Mis Flores, i agree with you that the tardy policy is strict! They should give us more time or not do the AM d-hall. And your the best teacher i have this year!

  5. My reaction to the first day of school was normal. I was excited to get up and get ready, then having to pick out my first outift is always fun. I was happy to see all my friends again but, I was sad that summer had to come to an end. My expectations were, that all my classes would be awesome, lunch would be a blast, that BMW would blast the speakers, and that I was going to be outgoing and bubbly the whole day! Turns out, the only thing that met my expectations was that BMW DID indeed talk yet again. I had an ok-ish first day. Due to the fact that I had to start off my day with a class full of freshman. Yay World Geography K (Sarcasm). Thankfully my schedule got changed. Next came lunch time, and the day hadn't gotten better, all my friends have 2nd and 3rd lunch. I managed. Then hearing the new policies they were enforcing this year made my happiness level drop about 5 points. I was expecting to have 5 days of exemptions being allowed but, no. And the new tardy thing isn't working out so good. Well, I don't really have a problem with it because my classes are some what close together, but what about the kids in the portables? I don't know it just seems like the school is "trying" to get up suspended. In all, they need to hear what us kids have to say about it. Considering we are the ones having to rush to class and such.

  6. Jess, I agreeeeeee! The dress code stuff is lame! We should have the right to wear nike shorts, I mean their lose and long-ish. I don't see what the big deal is. Gosh, the AP's this year and the rules need to tone down a bit. In no time everyone will be suspended for the dumbest things. BUT, I can't wait for this year. It's senior year regardless yay! (:

  8. well my reaction towards my first day of school was not that great because i was some what disappointed that school had begun and summer had ended but that's life. but I'm defiantly looking forward to getting out early since i have early release this year but other than that my classes are alright... i really didn't expect for the rules to get any stricter but it did indeed. new tardy policy? new absences policy? seriously? but I'm so not letting it get to me especially since its SENIOR year...cant wait till graduation 2011(:

  9. On the first day of school I was shocked about how far apart to of my classes are. One of my classes is in the portables and the next class is on the opposite side of the school in the farthest science class room. I have to run to be able to make it there on time. I like all of my teachers and am anxious to see how this year turns out. I also agree with you very much that the tardy policy is very stict especially if you are trying to make it to all of your classes on time but the hallways are not easy to get through when there are people standing in the middle of them.

  10. Allie you are so right what about the others who have classes in the portables?.. it is hard to get to class after your class was in the portables. I had that experience last year and i would rush to my next class before the tardy bell rang and sometimes i wouldn't make and i literally lost count of how many tardy's i had just in that class but i was lucky enough that my teacher wouldn't count them but what about those who do? so unfair!!

  11. The first day of school was kinda like last year. Freshman getting lost, Ap's going crazy, New teachers, New classes, and seeing old friends. I was thinking that the school's halls were going to be crazy crowded like last year but boy was i wrong. I like having less people and the halls kind of clear. Now if people would just stop talking in groups and move we will be good to go in our senior year. Go class of 2011.

  12. I agree with all of ya'll that the tardy policy is crazy I mean how do they expect people to get to one side of the building to another with people stopping in the middle of the hallways talking. I think they should change it back and make a new rule not to group up in the middle of the halls stopping people.

  14. Jessica i agree with you saying the APs arent going anywhere with the dress code, idk why they finally decided to inforce it. like why didnt they let us know about this before i went school shopping cause alot of the things i got are "unappropriate". And the tardy police is clearly going over board.

  16. Telling a story as it truly was:
Went to sleep at 12ish, and woke up at 6:12 (sorry about the ocd?), so i had some good 6 hours. My hair was a mess, I looked like chewbacca's brother. I felt tired as "hell", it was really bad. Well anyways, I had crashed my truck about a month earlier maybe, and therefore I had to ride the bus...That was a fatal disaster. It took 15 more minutes than what it should've had. It was hot like an oven, "no AC??,God why you do this to me?" I said. Get to school somehow late, and had not time to eat. I started catching up with people in the hallways, but for some reason it seems like everybody changed a lot in what 3 months? Anyways, I go to my classes and saw some people that i used to have class with last year so I was really excited but then it happened... 6th period ( Geography, which i had chossen since my freshman year to take it on my senior, make my schedule somehow easier). The room was filled with freshman kids, but one junior and another senior, they all are like that guy Justin Bieber ( none of them have hitted puberty lol), and they're those kids who play video games all day and get no sun, bacause they also look all albino, which for some reason made me laugh a lot, plus my teacher reminds me of my grandpa, which is somehow awkward. Other than that I loved every single class, and teacher, specially Mr. Turnbow, which I think he's hilarious and he's extremelly smart. By the way the school food got better, thanks God it did. :D

  18. My first day of school was horrible. I hated my schedule because I didn't have late arrival and I barely had any friends in my classes. I was expecting it to be a fun senior year, but then I heard about the STRICT tardy policy and the STRICT dress code for this year... HATE IT!! One good thing I did like was that the lunch lines at school were not as long so I had more time to eat my lunch :]

  19. Jessica, I totally agree with you about the nike shorts thing. EVERYONE wears them and if the AP's try to get us in trouble for it we are not gonna be happy :]

  20. The first day of school was not bad, I was glad I had all my classes I chose, especially early release. One thing I didn't like was the strict dress code. I saw a couple students get in trouble for their outfits and I didn't see anything wrong with them at all! another thing is the strict tardy policy. I don't think there is enough time to get from one side of the building to the other. There are always kids that like to block and talk in the middle of the hallways that make it hard to maneuver around them just to make it to class on time. I didnt really have any expectations just wanted the day to get over so i could go home. leaving at 12:06 is amazing glad i had enough credit to have it! (:

Aw im sorry rico about your car incident. i hope you get a car soon so you dont have to ride the bus!

  21. I can't believe it, im a senior ! My first day went well. The hallways were overcrowded so it was kind of hard to get to certain classes on time. Stephanie, i agree with you they should definenty cut us some slack on the dress code policy. They're way to strict. My goal is to pass geometry i've been failing it forever. I need to pass in order to get out of highschool. I expected the work to be a little bit more easier. I plan to study for my SATS so that i can get excepted to my college.

  22. The first day of school was pretty average, like the past three year's have been. Same feeling, same deal, just all over again. But all-in-all, it was none the less horrific as any of the first day's of school the past year's... minus the fact that THAT WAS OUR LAST FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! The only exciting part about it mainly, and then it just go back to not being a good thing seeing how the harshness of the real world soon await's us, depending on college or not. Tardy policy, eh. Just don't be late and you'll be set with no problem's. Though, i do agree that the tardy policy is like a military school and being late is like committing a sin, which everyone does time to time.

  23. My first day of school was very interesting. For some reason people i hadn't talked to all throughout high school were saying hi to me. I guess it's because we're seniors. It seems like everyone is getting along this year, probably because we only have each other this year. I'm most excited about being counselors assistant because i get a whole period to myself. I get to do my homework and just think to myself, but most of all just relax. My friend Eric is in three of my classes, which is awesome. I hope this year is as good as I'm expecting it to be!
